When you are traveling 10,000 kilometres in two months, there are bound to be some long driving days. In the last 2 days, driving time totalled 18 hours. When we arrived in Malawi, the lazy legs and cramped back were well worth it.
Malawi is one of the poorest countries in all of Africa. They have no natural resources and rely mostly on farming to survive.
I have had a chance to photograph some of the small towns and villages as we passed through. I managed to shoot some fabulous work of the local children. The picture below is a shot of all the local school kids jumping into a dump truck they were using as a makeshift school bus.
Knowing how poor the locals are, barely getting enough to eat and wearing dirty clothes, they still seem as happy as children living in the western world.
It is truly incredible walking down the street and experiencing this.
